The Philadelphia Flyers and forward Scott Laughton avoided arbitration by reaching a two-year deal worth $4.6 million on Friday. Laughton, who had filed for arbitration originally, will now be an unrestricted free agent after the 2020-21 season.

The Flyers drafted Laughton, 25, 20th overall in 2012. After playing in 109 games through his first four seasons, Laughton has played in all but one regular season game the last two years. Laughton finished with 12 goals, 20 assists, and 32 points -- all career highs -- last season.
