US-based chipmaker Qualcomm Technologies recently unveiled its latest Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset for enhanced AI experience, gaming, improved graphics, augmented reality and robust 5G connectivity.
Built especially to raise gaming experience to the next level, the chipset is an upgradation to the 2019 Android flagship Snapdragon 855 5G mobile processor. Using the X50 5G modem and Qualcomm Technologies' RF Front-end solutions, the new processor also supports 5G connectivity to deliver cutting-edge cellular performance, superior coverage and all-day battery life in premium 5G-enabled devices.
The Snapdragon Elite Gaming Experience provides features that are fully optimized for enhanced experiences in gaming. It also features software enhancements such as Game Jank Reducer, Game Fast Loader, Game AntiCheat Extensions, and more, thus giving incredible crystal-clear visuals and audio to fuel next-level gaming experiences. The Vulkan 1.1 Graphics Driver runs off 20 percent less power than Open GL ES, thus providing better gaming graphics.
"Snapdragon 855 Plus will raise the bar for elite gamers with the increase in CPU and GPU performance and elevate experiences for 5G, gaming, AI and XR, which is something our OEM customers look to us to deliver," said Kedar Kondap, vice president, product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., while commenting on the new mobile platform.
According to Qualcomm, it's 4th generation multi-core AI Engine delivers ultra-responsive gaming experience and harnesses the best of multi-gigabit 4G connectivity while holding the key to new, uncharted levels of 5G gaming. Also, aptX Audio and Aqstic audio technologies provide optimum audio quality, better voice recognition, and power savings for thrilling mobile gaming.
Consumers can expect commercial devices powered by Snapdragon 855 plus processor in the latter half of 2019.
