Jewel of Africa’s Rashmi Sharma says Zambian jewels have huge market in China

China is currently offering a huge market for the Zambian gemstones that must be explored. One of the Zambian firms, the senior official of Jewel of Africa (which participated at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai in 2018) opined that participating at the expo provided an opportunity for her firm to showcase Zambian gems and also afforded the Chinese people to appreciate what Zambia has to offer. She further said that Zambian jewels has a huge market in China.

Rashmi Sharma, the Jewel of Africa's Director of Marketing and Sales, said that Zambia has one of the best gems in the world with 64 different colours and expressed optimism that China had the potential to become Zambia's biggest market because of the high population.

She further revealed that her firm was talking to the Zambian embassy in China to consider arranging a private exhibition in Beijing where it could showcase its gems. Established over 25 years ago, Jewel of Africa, has acquired a reputation as an exclusive jeweller and currently has seven outlets, including one in the United States, as reported by Xinhua.
