After a long wait, the Copperbelt Investments Expo has been launched, which is committed to ride on private sector support to realise the Vision 2030 of a sustainable economy.

The government of Zambia has unveiled Copperbelt Investments Expo reaffirming its commitment to diversifying the province’s economy under the theme ‘Broadening the Copperbelt economy through diversified Investment’. The expo has been launched by Alexander Chiteme, Minister of National Development Planning on behalf of Zambia’s Vice President Inonge Wina at the Edgar Changwa Lungu Convention Centre. The expo is expected to spread development to rural districts of Lufwanyama, Mpongwe and Masaiti.

According to African Daily Voice, Copperbelt Investments Expo aims to boost partnerships and linkages with local business owners through joint ventures and private-public partners. The expo is also aimed to augment awareness of the province to the outer world so that the investors get attracted for more investment, which will increase more job opportunities and offer an avenue for skills transfer through Foreign Direct Investment.

“I am delighted to see how you have aligned your Investment Expo to the Seventh National Development Plan. Your areas of focus for investment also marries well with the sectors of focus at national level. This also includes your expected outcome of the Expo that is diversification, job creation and poverty reduction,” Inonge Wina opined.
