Indiana Jones 5 to be set in 1960s era, tweets James Mangold

The wait for Indiana Jones 5 has been intense with many fans losing hope. The previous movie was released in May 2008. However, currently, the fifth movie has a release date in July 2022.

The upcoming movie Indiana Jones 5 began pre-production in 2020. In the same year in May, the Indiana Jones 5, Producer Frank Marshall confirmed that they had just started writing and hopefully, the movie might release in July 2022.

A few months back, cameras started rolling for Indiana Jones 5. The film will bring back Harrison Ford as Dr. Henry 'Indiana' Jones, with franchise creator George Lucas on board as executive producer. Steven Spielberg is not working behind the camera, however, we are going to see Logan's director James Mangold as a developer and as well as a writer in the fifth installment.

Meanwhile, James Mangold took his Twitter handle to post that Indiana Jones 5 might be set in the 1960s New York City. See the post below.

While talking about the cast, Frank Marshall made it clear that Harrison Ford would be recast for the untitled fifth installment. Ford is one of the actors who is perfect for some iconic roles of all time under his belt. Indiana Jones 5 is one of them.

"Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones, don't you get it? I'm Indiana Jones," said Harrison Ford.

"When I'm gone, he's gone. It's easy. Get it in [your head]," the actor added.

Another returning cast, John Rhys-Davies told to Digital Spy, "Of course, I would like to do another one – he's a great character – but I'd have him do something meaningful."

John Rhys-Davies played Sallah in two of the three original Indiana Jones movies 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' and 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.'

The names of other returning actors and newcomers for Indiana Jones 5 have not been revealed yet. The current release date is July 29, 2022. Stay tuned to Devdiscourse to get more updates on Hollywood movies.
