President announces NIRF rankings 2019, IIT Madras tops list

9 IITs in top 10 list of best public institutions for innovation, as per HRD ranking of higher institutes. The Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Madras, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and IIT-Delhi ranked first, second and third in the list respectively. Of the top 10 institutes, seven are IITs. The HRD Ministry has been publishing the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) since 2016.
