In the annual meetings of the African Development Bank in Busan, South Korea, Alamine Ousmane Mey, Minister of Economy, Planning and Spatial Planning of Cameroon along with the African Development Bank Group has signed two loan agreements for the partial financing of the construction of the Logone River Bridge. Funding totaling nearly XAF 37.5 billion obtained from two major development partners.

African Development Bank group granted XAF 21.86 billion and African Development Fund granted XAF 7.79 billion to Cameroon. These funds are intended for the construction of a bridge of 620 meters linking the city of Yagoua in Cameroon to that of Bangor in Chad. It will also discuss the construction of connecting roads to the structure and the rehabilitation of certain socio-economic infrastructures for the benefit of local populations.

Ousmane Dore, AfDB Director General for Central Africa, who signed the conventions on behalf of the group, urged the Cameroonian side to make every effort to ensure that this inclusive project is carried out expeditiously and in a sustainable manner.

The second ceremony focused on the financing XAF 7.8 billion, for the rural electrification project. Belkacem Ouzrourou, Africa Director of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) signed the documents on behalf of its Managing Director, Suleiman Jasir Al Herbish. The rural electrification project aims to improve Cameroon's energy supply, as a vector of development and inclusive growth.

The objective of this phase II is to increase the rate of electrification in rural areas, through the realization of the lines connecting administrative units, border localities, and villages of great importance. The signing of this agreement brings to XAF 22.5 billion, the portfolio of OFID in Cameroon, divided between four projects.
