The Department of Defence Production (DDP) has successfully organized 446 cleanliness drives across all its divisions, attached offices, and subordinate units between November 2023 and August 2024, reinforcing its commitment to workplace cleanliness and sanitation. These efforts were part of a broader campaign to weed out physical files, dispose of obsolete items, ensure timely resolution of public grievances, and improve overall workplace conditions. Participating offices included DPSUs, the Directorate of Quality Assurance (DGQA), Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA), Directorate of Standardization, and the Directorate of Ordnance.

As part of its ongoing efforts, the DDP conducted Special Campaign 3.0, a Pan-India initiative aimed at improving cleanliness in both central offices in New Delhi and various field units. During this campaign, the department resolved 57 pending references from Members of Parliament, 17 from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), 1,432 public grievances, and 214 public grievance appeals. Additionally, a thorough review and weeding out of 13,356 physical files resulted in the clearance of 8,750 square feet of office space.

The campaigns not only improved office environments but also generated revenue through scrap disposal, amounting to Rs. 14,58,225. These efforts have significantly enhanced space management and contributed to a healthier office atmosphere. The Department's dedication to cleanliness has become ingrained in its daily operations, fostering a more efficient and organized work environment, and ensuring maximum utilization of resources.

With cleanliness now an integral part of the Department's routine, the DDP continues to prioritize a cleaner and more simplified workspace, reinforcing its commitment to Swachhata (cleanliness) as a precursor to effective office management.
