US FAA refers more unruly airline passengers to FBI

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said Thursday it has referred another 17 unruly passengers to the FBI for criminal investigation this year.

Since the late 2021, the FAA has referred more than 250 passengers to the FBI for violent incidents onboard airplanes. Last month, a bipartisan group of lawmakers made a new push for legislation to bar passengers fined or convicted of serious physical violence from commercial flights after a series of recent high-profile incidents.
