Bhubaneswar, Odisha [India], August 26: Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., a leader in innovative lighting solutions, has joined forces with Eastern Engineering, a top project contracting firm, to roll out a landmark solar street lighting project at Birmitrapur Municipality, Orissa. This project, featuring cutting-edge solar-powered streetlights, represents a significant step toward a safer and more sustainable Orissa.
The primary goal of the Birmitrapur Municipality was to enhance public safety by illuminating critical off-grid areas. Proper lighting is crucial for reducing accidents, deterring criminal activities, and fostering a sense of security among residents in previously under-lit regions. Leveraging Crompton's advanced solar lighting technology, high-performance solar street lights were installed over a stretch of 5 kilometers. To meet the specific lighting needs of Birmitrapur, Crompton engineered a 9000-lumen integrated solar street light system. These state-of-the-art luminaires are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and feature robust construction, efficient power sources, optimal illumination, and enhanced protection.
