Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has proposed the introduction of seaplane transportation in eastern Maharashtra's Chandrapur district. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility to the popular Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR).
During a rally in support of state forest minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, Gadkari emphasized the need for improved connectivity options, as building an airport near TATR isn't feasible due to environmental constraints.
Gadkari proposed establishing a 'waterport' at Irai Dam, facilitating transportation via 22-seater seaplanes. This development would enable tourists from Pune and Mumbai to directly access TATR, bypassing current travel barriers.
