Revamping Rural Connectivity: Chhattisgarh's CMRBS Initiative

The Chief Minister Rural Bus Service Scheme (CMRBS) is set to enhance public transport in remote areas of Chhattisgarh, initially covering 250 villages. Launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the scheme aims to improve rural connectivity, provide local employment, and promote economic equality.

The Chief Minister Rural Bus Service Scheme (CMRBS) was unveiled to boost public transport in remote areas of Chhattisgarh. The scheme, launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, will initially cover 250 villages.

The initiative is designed to improve accessibility, providing villagers with easier access to healthcare, education, employment, and markets. It will also create local employment opportunities and promote both social and economic equality.

The first phase targets villages in the Bastar and Surguja divisions, deploying 34 buses across 34 routes. Viability gap funding will support bus operators, ensuring sustained services in these remote regions.
