Indian airlines are bracing for disruptions this Saturday as they initiate crucial software and hardware realignments on their A320 family planes, potentially leading to flight delays or cancellations. The move comes in response to a significant advisory from Airbus regarding the dangers posed by intense solar radiation on key aircraft data.

Sources have revealed that several domestic carriers using the narrow-body A320 fleet, including IndiGo and Air India, must ground their planes temporarily for these updates. Airbus has warned that solar radiation could corrupt essential flight control data in numerous A320 aircraft, necessitating immediate software adjustments.

IndiGo and Air India have pledged to minimise travel disruptions. Meanwhile, Air India Express has initiated precautionary measures, with 31 of its A320 planes expected to be affected. Airlines are working in close cooperation with Airbus to ensure all necessary procedures and realignments are efficiently executed.
