India's key airports, including those in Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, have faced alarming GPS spoofing incidents, as the government confirmed on Monday. These events have led the Wireless Monitoring Organisation (WMO) to launch efforts to track down the interference sources.

The Civil Aviation Minister, K Rammohan Naidu, informed Rajya Sabha that contingency procedures are being employed to handle such scenarios. No flight movements on conventional navigation-operated runways have been affected, but the situation remains under close watch.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has emphasized the importance of rapid reporting of GPS spoofing, urging airlines and pilots to alert authorities within 10 minutes of detection. Simultaneously, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is bolstering cybersecurity measures to counter global threats targeting the aviation sector.
