Delhi is ushering in a new era of sightseeing by launching double-decker buses, promising tourists a unique vantage of the capital's prominent attractions such as the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya and Bharat Mandapam. This new initiative is slated to start in February, marking a year of significant development under the current government.
Spearheaded by Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra, the electric buses, built by Ashok Leyland, will begin operations around February 20. These buses, seating over 63 passengers, are part of a broader mission to enhance the tourism experience in the city, especially targeting both domestic and foreign tourists.
The tours will commence from the Sangrahalaya post-6 pm, extending to well-loved destinations like Dilli Haat and the National War Memorial, with onboard guides to enrich the journey with cultural insights. The initiative aims to revive the allure of double-decker buses while adapting to modern sustainable transport needs.
