An intense blaze crippled train services in the heart of Glasgow after a fire devoured a four-story building adjacent to the city's busiest railway station. Firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames on Monday as the fire, which began on Sunday, led to significant disruptions at Glasgow Central Station.
The incident stemmed from a fire in a vape shop on Union Street, right beside the station, and led to parts of the building, originally constructed in 1851, collapsing. Overnight footage captured the dramatic scene as the structure and its dome-like roofing became completely engulfed in flames.
Despite the severity of the blaze, no casualties have been reported, according to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. The closure of Glasgow Central Station has caused widespread travel disruptions, and it remains uncertain when normal services will resume, National Rail indicated.
