Thailand's Foreign Ministry has formally demanded an apology from Iran over an incident involving a Thai vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. The ship was hit by a projectile, leading to a fire and forcing the crew to abandon the vessel.
In a statement released on Thursday, the ministry confirmed it is seeking further clarification from Iran's ambassador to determine the circumstances of the incident.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards, as reported by the Tasnim news agency, claimed that the ship was "fired upon by Iranian fighters," escalating diplomatic tensions between the two nations.
