Pakistan Airport Traffic Control recently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, preventing around 30 passenger aircraft from entering Iranian airspace engulfed in conflict during severe weather conditions.

Air traffic controllers from both the Lahore and Karachi Flight Information Regions played a pivotal role in guiding the distressed aircraft to safety despite no response from Tehran's corresponding control team. The situation arose when extreme weather conditions near the Iran border put the planes at risk of inadvertently entering restricted airspace, which is currently closed due to ongoing conflict.

The aircraft were on routes towards Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and other destinations. The adverse weather prevented safe transit eastward, while westward routes posed significant risks. Consequently, the collaboration between Lahore and Karachi controllers ensured a safe redirection of the flights, maintaining security and operational integrity during this critical period.
