LetsPlay.Live (LPL) has inked a new deal with Ola, one of the world’s largest rideshare platforms, who will become the esports company’s official transportation partner.

Fans can look forward to regular esports content such as the LPL Top Three Plays of the week presented by Ola, as well as exclusive behind the scenes content on LPL’s social media platforms, thanks to the partnership.

Brian Dewill, Ola New Zealand Country Manager, said: “Ola is excited to be the official transportation partner of LPL. Esports is an emerging category and as a global tech platform with a focus on innovation, we’re interested in partnering with similarly visionary organisations, who can help us reach an audience of highly engaged early adopters. We’re looking forward to seeing what these synergies can deliver”.

Duane Mutu, Managing Director of LPL, is excited about the opportunities that the partnership brings forth. “It’s always great to see non-endemic brands recognising the potential of unique opportunities within the space of esports,” he says.

“We are looking forward to a successful partnership with Ola across a variety of channels, and are excited for the chance to give our gaming audience a great way to get from A to B when IRL.”

LPL will also help Ola offer a free ride to esports fans, sharing the promo code ‘LETSRIDE’ across their channels as part of the partnership. This offer is available for redemption via the Ola app, for new users in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Ola launched in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch last year, offering Kiwis a reliable new rideshare service which provides a safe and affordable alternative and a better deal for drivers, with lower commission rates that allow them to earn more.
