Hollywood actor Eiza Gonzalez has dismissed the news reports that she has been cast as Elektra in upcoming Marvel series ''Daredevil: Born Again''.

Gonzalez took to Twitter to set the record straight about her rumoured casting in the Disney+ series, which will officially bring Charlie Cox's blind superhero Matt Murdock aka Daredevil into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fold.

''I feel like I'm just gonna get it out of the way because, one, I'm confused as for the amount of hate over this and two, I feel like it saves people energy. No I'm not cast as Elektra in 'Daredevil','' the 32-year-old actor wrote. Gonzalez, known for movies such as ''Baby Driver'', ''Bloodshot'', ''I Care a Lot'' and ''Godzilla vs Kong'', said she is currently working on the Netflix series ''The Three-Body Problem''.

''I have already a on going series exclusivity contract to 3 Body Problem. Ur welcome,'' she added.

In a follow-up post, the actor said, ''Id appreciate if I could live free of negative ill intended messages about me playing/stealing? a role that I don't even know about. Thank you and wishing you all the best.'' Gonzalez said she is hoping for the day when she will get ''play a cool superhero''.

''Hopefully I'll get to play a cool superhero at one point of my career and it will be tons of fun and I'd be honoured to be even considered. Meanwhile, I'll be watching Daredevil and sending that cast all the love,'' she tweeted.

''Daredevil: Born Again'' has an 18-episode order from Marvel Studios. The show will also feature Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
