The next installment of the widely acclaimed Netflix thriller series, Outer Banks, has been given the green light before Season 3 even premiered. Although the release date for Season 4 has yet to be revealed, Netflix has announced that filming for Outer Banks will commence in late May 2023, as confirmed in early March of the same year.

According to Production Weekly's latest production schedule, filming for Outer Banks Season 4 will start on May 30th, 2023 and is expected to continue throughout most of 2023, with a projected wrap date of December 15th, 2023.

Fans of Outer Banks are eagerly anticipating the release of Season 4, with hopes that it will follow in the footsteps of the latest season, which was released in February 2023. While the previous seasons were launched in different months during the first half of the year, it remains unclear when the next installment will be released. Nevertheless, the early renewal of Season 4, even before the premiere of Season 3, is a promising indication of the show's continued success.

During a recent press event, it was confirmed that Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke will continue to serve as co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers for the upcoming season. They released a statement to the media, expressing their excitement about the forthcoming season and their gratitude for the support of the show's loyal fans.

“Seeing Poguelandia come to life was nothing short of spectacular. The Pogues are enjoying an adventure of a lifetime, and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into season four of Outer Banks. Thank you to Netflix, our cast, and the amazing fans who helped to make this happen.”

What to expect from Outer Banks Season 3?

Outer Banks Season 3 concluded with John B, Sarah, Pope, and Cleo traveling to Mexico to find the lost city of gold, El Dorado. They were joined by JJ and Kiara, who helped them search for John B's father, who was held captive by Carlos Singh and his men. The season ended with the Pogues discovering the gold mine and the deaths of Ward and Big John.

While there is no official plot for Outer Banks Season 4, there are hints and speculations from the show's creators. The Pogues are expected to embark on a new treasure hunt and the show's focus could potentially expand beyond the Bahamas and El Dorado. Creator Jonas Pate previously mentioned that the show could last for four or five seasons, but now, he and co-creator Josh Pate have suggested that the show could continue for a longer period, possibly up to 17 seasons.

The story may also venture into outer space, according to the creators, but they aim to keep the show grounded to maintain its fun and entertaining nature. The aftermath of Ward and Big John's deaths will also play a significant role in shaping the story of Season 4 and beyond.
