Kiril Valchev, the director general of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), highlighted the importance of collaboration between Indian and European journalists in tackling the problem of fake news on social media.

Valchev spoke about a pioneering election coverage initiative involving the two leading news agencies, aiming to create greater awareness about elections in India and Europe.

'The most important task of news agencies is to provide factual election results and opinions from different political leaders,' Valchev said. He stressed the need for true, real news to combat false information.
