Twenty fire engines were dispatched on Saturday to combat a blaze at London's historic Somerset House, a site housing significant art collections by Botticelli and Cezanne. The fire sent clouds of smoke spiraling over the city's skyline.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) deployed approximately 125 firefighters following an emergency call received just before noon. 'Crews are tackling flames located in part of the building's roof,' LFB stated, noting that the cause of the fire remains unknown.

No injuries have been reported, according to police. Somerset House, a former royal palace now serving as an arts and cultural center, announced that the fire has forced the closure of the site. The venue has canceled multiple events, including the London Battle break dance event.
