Vinayaka Chathurthi Festivities Sweep South India
Vinayaka Chathurthi was celebrated with fervour and gaiety across South India. Prominent leaders participated in the events, with large Ganesha idols installed in Chennai, Hyderabad, and other cities. Temples in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry saw throngs of devotees, and celebrations were also held in Kerala.

Vinayaka Chathurthi was marked with religious fervour and gaiety across South India on Saturday, with prominent leaders, including Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, joining the celebrations in various states.
The festive mood permeated the region as scores of faithful marked the occasion, highlighted by the installation of large Ganesha idols in Chennai and Hyderabad, among other cities.
Prominent Ganesha temples, such as those at Pillayarpatti in Sivaganga and Malaikottai in Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, as well as the Manakula Vinayakar temple in Puducherry, teemed with devotees offering worship.
In Hyderabad, Telangana CM Reddy participated in a well-attended Ganesh Puja at Khairatabad. Meanwhile, JD (S) leader and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy held prayers in Bengaluru.
Kerala also saw several temples holding celebrations. In Tamil Nadu, clay idols of Lord Ganesha were installed at homes and prayers were performed.
The AIADMK chief and Leader of Opposition, Edappadi K Palaniswami, extended greetings to the people on the occasion.
