In a significant religious transition, a church in a tribal-dominated village in Banswara district, Rajasthan, has been converted into a Hindu temple. This follows several local families, including the former priest, Gautam Garasia, voluntarily returning to Hinduism from Christianity.
Originally, Gautam Garasia, who had converted to Christianity years ago, constructed the church on his private property. However, after reverting to Hinduism, Garasia led the transformation of this structure into a temple, hosting a peaceful consecration ceremony for a Hindu deity.
The ceremony involved a procession of the deity's idol, accompanied by chants of 'Jai Shree Ram.' With police ensuring a smooth transition, the church was repainted saffron, and Hindu symbols adorned its walls. Garasia now leads Hindu rituals in place of Sunday prayers.
