The New York City Marathon's 'back of the pack' runners will be given much-deserved recognition at next month's Tribeca Festival through a new documentary, as race organizers debut 'Final Finishers' under their new content studio.

Unlike other marathons that whisk slow runners off the course, the NYC Marathon celebrates these determined individuals, according to NYRR CEO Rob Simmelkjaer. This inclusive approach is showcased in the documentary, which highlights runners like 62-year-old Janelle Hartman, who completed the race well into the night.

The film marks the first project from East 89th St Productions, underscoring Simmelkjaer's vision to expand media offerings. With a surge in marathon applications, 'Final Finishers' shines a light on ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the iconic marathon.
