Boeing announced on Tuesday the winners of the 10th National Aeromodelling Competition. Students from Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology secured first prize in this extensive contest featuring more than 1,400 students from 432 institutions nationwide, with 24% female participation in the final round.
The competition concluded with 46 finalists from 12 teams vying in the grand finale, where three teams emerged victorious. Finalists have been offered a place in Boeing's one-year apprenticeship program, advancing their development within the aerospace sector.
The competition began in 2013 in collaboration with several IIT institutions and R V College of Engineering, aiming to engage students in designing and constructing fixed-wing aircraft models. Salil Gupte, president of Boeing India & South Asia, highlighted India's rapidly growing aviation market, noting the competition's role in nurturing engineering talent.
