The seventh edition of Abhivyakti - The City Arts Project, supported by Torrent Group's UNM Foundation, concluded with a record attendance of over 4.5 lakh visitors, marking it as a major cultural spectacular in Ahmedabad. The festival, themed 'Stories Waiting to be Told', witnessed artistic showcases from November 13 to 30 across three significant venues: Shreyas Foundation, Gujarat University, and ATIRA.
Since its inception in 2018, Abhivyakti has been instrumental in supporting over 1,000 artists and premiering more than 550 original productions. This year's festival received an overwhelming 2,656 applications from all over India, of which a diverse group of over 140 artists from 45 cities and 16 states were selected. Impressively, more than 80 percent of the participants hailed from outside Gujarat, highlighting the festival's expanding national footprint.
UNM Foundation Chairperson Sapna Mehta emphasized the festival's vision to make art accessible. She noted the city's cultural identity now intertwined with Abhivyakti and expressed excitement for Edition-8 in November 2026. The festival featured extensive performances across dance, theatre, music, and visual arts, along with a new literature segment. As the festival concluded, it strengthened its emotional bond with Ahmedabad, with plans to take select shows to other cities in Gujarat before its next edition.
