Tamil Nadu Unveils Tamil Biennale to Boost Global Art and Culture Tourism
Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin announced the Tamil Biennale set for January to establish the state as a global hub for art and cultural tourism. A Rs 100 crore development plan for Mamallapuram, a Rs 22,794.78 crore investment package, and significant initiatives in tourism infrastructure were also revealed.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has unveiled plans for the inaugural Tamil Biennale, scheduled for January, aimed at positioning the state as an international nexus for art and cultural tourism.
Speaking at the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026 at the UNESCO heritage site of Mamallapuram, Stalin announced a Rs 100 crore initiative to establish a Special Area Development Authority to create high-standard infrastructure there.
The chief minister announced 127 deals amounting to Rs 22,794.78 crore in investments, eyeing job creation for over 65,000 individuals. Additional tourism development projects were unveiled, reflecting the state's push to foster a vibrant and inclusive tourism environment.
