Rescue and Rehabilitation: Golden Jackals in Mumbai
Two injured golden jackals were rescued from Raigad and taken to Mumbai for treatment and rehabilitation. Currently at the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare, their health is being assessed by veterinarians with some test results still pending to determine the required advanced treatment.

Two injured golden jackals have been relocated to a treatment and rehabilitation facility in Mumbai following their rescue in Raigad. Currently, they are under the care of the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare, where initial treatments have commenced under the watchful eye of veterinarians Dr. Priti Sathe and Dr. Kirti Sathe. The animals await further diagnostic reports to establish the necessary advanced treatments required for recovery.
Rescued on Friday in collaboration with the forest department and local animal welfare NGOs, the two jackals were found at Karnala and JNPT. Their rescue highlights the vital coordination required among various organizations to protect and treat wildlife effectively.
The golden jackals, listed under Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act, are native to mangrove forests and adjacent habitats, emphasizing the importance of preserving these environments for the species' conservation.
