On the solemn occasion of the seventh anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack, the families of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who perished in the 2019 tragedy gathered to remember their loved ones. The gathering occurred as a tribute, yet underlined the lingering sentiment of unfulfilled promises.

Sukhjit Kaur, widow of CRPF personnel Jaimal Singh, expressed disappointment that despite assurances, a stadium in his honor remains unbuilt, and a memorial gate intended for completion still stands unfinished. Kaur recalls how her young son, now 12, holds onto memories of his father dearly.

Similarly, in Gandiwind village, the family of martyr Sukhjinder Singh reflected on his sacrifice. His brother, Gurjant Singh, urged authorities to upgrade a local school named after Sukhjinder and complete a stadium dedicated to him. The attack on February 14, 2019, claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel, shaking the nation to its core.
