Maharashtra Considers World's Tallest National Flag at Haji Ali Dargah

A proposal has been submitted to install the world's tallest national flag at Mumbai's Haji Ali Dargah. Trustee Suhail Khandwani announced the plan, aiming to symbolize patriotism and unity. The installation seeks approval from the Maharashtra government, promising a landmark of spiritual inclusivity and harmony.

A proposal for installing the world's tallest national flag at the iconic Haji Ali Dargah has been submitted to the Maharashtra government. This initiative aims to enhance the symbolic significance of the landmark, promoting patriotism and communal unity.

The Haji Ali Dargah, located on an islet 500 meters from the Worli coast, is a revered site as the resting place of the 15th-century Sufi saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari. Annually, several lakh people visit this spiritual landmark, making it an important cultural beacon in India.

According to Trustee Suhail Khandwani, the flag's installation will use special piling and quality metal due to its seaside location. The proposal was unveiled to coincide with Ramzan, during a special sehri event that celebrated cultural harmony by involving priests from various religions.
