Mumbai Hosts Seminar on ‘Shatayu Sangh Aur Mahila Sahabhagita’, Highlighting Women’s Contribution in 100 Years of RSS

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 11: A thought-provoking literary discussion and intellectual seminar centred on the book ''Shatayu Sangh aur Mahila Sahabhagita'' was organised at the prestigious Hall of Harmony, Nehru Centre, Mumbai. The programme was chaired by Kamala Trust trustee and Bharat Vikas Parishad Vice President Mrs. Nidarshana Gowani along with Mrs. Varsha Tawde. Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Gowani said that her journey with the Sangh taught her discipline, patience, teamwork, and the importance of serving society with dedication. She remarked that social service and collective work have shaped her outlook towards life, and these experiences have also found a place in the book. A detailed discussion was held on the book ''Shatayu Sangh aur Mahila Sahabhagita'' authored by Dr. Shobha Vijendra. Speakers emphasised that as the Sangh completes a historic 100 years, it is essential to acknowledge the immense role women have played in strengthening the organisation's social and cultural values. They stated that contrary to the common perception of the Sangh being solely a men's organisation, women have contributed significantly in areas of service, leadership, discipline, and social awareness. Shri Pradeep Joshi, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, attended the event as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he elaborated on the Sangh's ideology of personality development and value-based social contribution. It underlines how women's strength and participation have always remained integral to the Sangh's vision and philosophy. Dr. Shobha Vijendra, while addressing the audience, shared that the book reflects her personal experiences and observations accumulated over the years. She said the intention behind the book was to present the positive and constructive dimensions of women's participation in a simple language that can easily connect with readers from all sections of society. The event also featured a special felicitation of renowned social worker and activist Geeta Tai Gunde.
