On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the significance of the 'Somnath Swabhiman Parv', representing India's Sanatan faith, cultural awareness, and national pride. She made these remarks during the 75th anniversary observance of the Somnath Temple's reconstruction in Gujarat at Delhi's Gauri Shankar Temple.
Gupta, joined by cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Kapil Mishra, attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's live address from Somnath. She highlighted the temple's unyielding faith and indomitable spirit despite centuries of invasions and destruction.
The Somnath Swabhiman Parv marks a millennium of enduring religious faith in India, dating back to the first recorded assault on the Somnath Temple in 1026 AD. The modern nation, guided by Modi’s vision of 'Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi', continues to balance cultural patrimony with progressive development.
