Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, has revealed his plan to retire at the age of 70 and hand over control of the conglomerate to his sons and their cousins by the early 2030s. The announcement was made during an interview with Bloomberg News.

According to the report, Adani's four heirs—sons Karan and Jeet, and their cousins Pranav and Sagar—will become equal beneficiaries of a family trust. A confidential agreement has been established to manage the transition of stakes in the group's firms to the next generation. Both the report and sources familiar with the matter indicate that Pranav and Karan are the leading candidates to eventually take over as chairman.

Gautam Adani emphasized the importance of succession planning for business sustainability, stating that the transition must be organic, gradual, and systematic. As Adani Group expands its new energy business, the planned succession comes at a pivotal time, with Adani Enterprises recently reporting a significant increase in profit.
