Amidst escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of North Frontier Railway (NFR) has significantly upgraded its security efforts. These enhancements are primarily focused on ensuring passenger safety in the present national security climate, addressing potential threats like child trafficking, human trafficking, drug-related incidents, stone pelting, and other malicious actions.

Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, the CPRO of Northeast Frontier Railway, indicated that the RPF, alongside railway authorities, is intensifying security and surveillance across the network. This includes joint patrols coordinated with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and local enforcement bodies to secure railway stations and track routes effectively.

As part of these security measures, NFR has orchestrated mock drills at key railway stations in collaboration with district administrations. These exercises, featuring air siren alerts and blackout protocols, are designed to enhance emergency readiness. Women's security has also been bolstered with expanded Anti-Crime Patrols and dedicated women's security teams. Vigilance has been heightened to counter trafficking and protect traveler safety. A recent operation led to the seizure of eight pistols and 16 magazines from unclaimed bags on the Tripura Sundari Express, with the RPF swiftly handling the situation and earning praise from Tripura's Director General (Intelligence).
