In a decisive move to tackle rising winter pollution, the Delhi Government distributed electric heaters to Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) on Saturday at Delhi Haat, Pitampura. The initiative seeks to replace pollutive open bonfires with safer, cleaner alternatives, according to officials.

Speaking at the event, senior officials underscored the detrimental impact of open fires on air quality, advocating for electric heaters as a prudent and environmentally responsible choice. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the government's commitment to pollution control, detailing initiatives ranging from decreasing landfill size to ramping up smog tower operations and industrial monitoring.

CM Gupta called for vigilant public participation, urging RWAs to report instances of wood burning. Gupta announced the distribution of 10,000 heaters, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation to counter rising pollution levels. The initiative enjoys wide political support, with several notable government figures present at the launch.
