The spiritual Tamil month of Margazhi has commenced, drawing thousands of devotees to the Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram. This period, spanning mid-December to mid-January, marks the 9th month in the Tamil calendar, with believers focusing on spiritual growth through early-morning prayers.

On Wednesday, the temple witnessed high footfall as worshippers lined up to offer their prayers to Lord Shiva and Rama, among other deities. In response to the influx, authorities have implemented strict security measures, with inspections at entry points and police officers ensuring public order. This ensures a seamless and safe experience for visitors.

Despite moderate rainfall marking the start of Margazhi, the India Meteorological Department forecasts cloudy weather for the rest of the week, with possible light rain on December 18 and 22. Until mid-January, as temple visits increase, devotees engage in home rituals like drawing kolams and reciting Thiruppavai and Thiruvempavai to enhance their spiritual connection. (ANI)
