The Uttar Pradesh government is poised to revolutionize the green energy sector by instigating a comprehensive green hydrogen policy. Central to this initiative, two new centers of excellence are set to propel research, innovation, and support the burgeoning startup ecosystem.
As outlined in an official statement released Monday, these centers aim to develop cutting-edge technologies for the production, storage, transportation, and utilization of green hydrogen, with an emphasis on reducing production costs. The facilities will be established in collaboration with esteemed academic institutions, ensuring research is directly aligned with the industry's evolving needs.
In an assertive move to champion green energy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the state's first green hydrogen plant in Gorakhpur, playing a significant role in India's broader goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. The plant is expected to cut carbon emissions by 500 tonnes, with further initiatives planned statewide.
