India took center stage at a United Nations discussion, emphasizing its commitment to a rights-based and inclusive development model rooted in the 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision. Delivering the country's address, Savitri Thakur, India's Minister of State for Women and Child Development, highlighted the integration of strategies from both the Copenhagen Declaration and Doha Political Declaration to tackle emerging global challenges.

Thakur outlined India's major initiatives, noting that over 800 million citizens benefit from food security programs, while a national network covers 550 million individuals with free healthcare. The minister emphasized grassroots democracy with 1.45 million elected women representatives and initiatives enhancing the education and financial safety of girls.

Beyond domestic impacts, Thakur reaffirmed India's broader civilizational ethos, ''Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'' – the world is one family – signaling India's readiness to bolster global partnerships. The discussion, embracing widespread participation from UN member states, also included a follow-up meeting with Sweden's Minister for Social Services, Camilla Waltersson Grönvall.
