Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy has urged Telangana's Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, to initiate power purchase agreements with NTPC's power plant in Ramagundam, located in Peddapalli district. His call aims to help meet the state's escalating power requirements.
In an open letter, G Kishan Reddy highlighted NTPC's readiness to offer competitively priced power solutions using modern technology, mirroring other southern states that have already partnered with NTPC for cost-effective thermal power.
Emphasizing the urgency, he cited Telangana's unprecedented power demand of 18,139 MW on March 3, and recalled Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka's previous remarks anticipating the need for one lakh MW by 2047.
