Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has announced that the state government will address the pressing issue of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) shortage in an upcoming Cabinet meeting. He urged the central government to tackle the supply disruptions swiftly, emphasizing the hardship it has caused to households and farmers, especially in rural areas amid the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict in the Middle East.

Speaking to journalists, Shivakumar expressed concern over the scarcity, stating that without an immediate resolution, villagers might resort to using firewood instead. He criticized the central government for not reducing high fuel prices, which, along with rising costs of essential commodities, have compounded public struggles.

Shivakumar called upon BJP Members of Parliament from Karnataka to voice these concerns in Parliament to secure fair treatment for the state. Highlighting the necessity of cooking fuel accessibility, he warned of further potential difficulties without reliable LPG supplies and mentioned the impact of previously suspended gas-run vehicles.
