Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to continuously monitor petrol and diesel supply across the state until normalcy is fully restored. The chief minister's direction came amid efforts to stabilise fuel availability across districts following recent disruptions, with officials reporting a gradual improvement in supply conditions. ''CM Naidu directed officials to continuously monitor the petrol and diesel shortage in the state until normalcy returns. He instructed officials to ensure close coordination with oil companies and continuously assess ground-level conditions to avoid inconvenience to the public,'' an official release late on Monday said. The chief minister further asked officials to continue fuel dispatch operations during the night to accelerate the restoration of normal supply across all regions. Naidu conducted a teleconference to assess the situation and instructed officials not to relax until fuel supply stabilises, stressing continuous monitoring through the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS). A total of 2,679 fuel loads were planned for dispatch to petrol bunks across the state on Monday, of which 2,079 loads were delivered, including 11,909 kilolitres of petrol and 19,707 kilolitres of diesel, the release said. These supplies were dispatched through oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) operating in the state, it said. Officials said each fuel consignment was being accompanied by Revenue and Police personnel to ensure smooth transportation and delivery, adding that supplies to remote areas were taking longer due to travel distances. Officials informed the chief minister that fuel availability had improved in districts, including Anakapalli, East Godavari, Guntur, Krishna, Bapatla, Palnadu, Nandyal, Anantapur and Markapuram compared to Monday morning. Across the state, fuel sales recorded till 7 pm on Monday stood at 6,511 kilolitres of petrol and 9,046 kilolitres of diesel, indicating a steady return towards normalcy, the release added.
