In a post on X, CM Rekha Gupta recalled key milestones in Arun Jaitley's political journey. She stated that his decisive contributions in shaping numerous major reforms as Union Finance Minister gave a fresh direction to the country's economy. "On the death anniversary of BJP stalwart, former Union Minister, and Padma Vibhushan recipient, the revered Shri Arun Jaitley ji, I pay my heartfelt tributes to him. From his beginnings in public life with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, his struggle against the Emergency, his long dedication to the organisation, and his effective role in Parliament, his life was an inspiring journey of nation-first politics. As Finance Minister, his decisive contributions to numerous key reforms that gave a new direction to the country's economy will always be remembered," said CM Gupta.

She further added that Jaitley's deep bond with party workers and the people of Delhi remains alive today in many people's memories. "Delhi was his karmabhoomi. His deep bond with the workers and the people here remains alive today in many memories. His unwavering commitment to the organisation, good governance, and national service will continue to inspire forever," added CM Gupta.

Alongside CM Rekha Gupta, many BJP leaders paid homage to the late Union Finance Minister. Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra and Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta offered floral tributes to former Union Minister Arun Jaitley at the BJP office. Speaking to reporters, Malhotra remembered Jaitley as a statesman who rose above party lines, maintained strong cross-party relations, and dedicated himself to the service of society.

"He rose above party politics and maintained good relations with other parties as well, serving society. Today is the death anniversary of Arun Jaitley ji. We remember and pay tribute to him," said Malhotra. Meanwhile, in a post on X, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta paid tribute to the late BJP leader, stating that Jaitley's dedication to national service and his visionary thinking will continue to guide several political leaders.

"Today, at the Delhi BJP State Office, floral tributes were offered at the portrait of the former Union Minister, the revered Padma Vibhushan Shri Arun Jaitley ji on his punyatithi, and he was respectfully saluted. His dedication to national service, skilled leadership, and visionary thinking will forever guide us all. His contributions to the nation's development and democratic values will always be remembered," said Gupta. Arun Jaitley was a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and an attorney. Born on December 28, 1952, he held key portfolios in the Union Cabinet, notably serving as India's Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs from 2014 to 2019. He passed away at the age of 66 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on August 24, 2019. (ANI)
