According to local reports, the sky has remained overcast for the last two days with no sunlight. The rain, though mild, has been continuous and unabated till today, causing severe inconvenience to the public. The ongoing inclement weather has taken a heavy toll on daily life, exacerbated significantly by the prolonged absence of proper road maintenance following the ethnic conflict of May 3, 2023.

Daily life and commerce have taken a heavy hit. In market areas, vegetable sellers who sell under thin polythene roofs are facing losses as their goods are getting soaked due to the continuous drizzle. Meanwhile, vehicular traffic on the main roads has slowed to a crawl, with very few commuters willing to venture out. Vehicles transitioning from muddy by-lanes onto main routes are heavily coated in muck, reflecting the poor road conditions. Although the downpour occasionally ceases for brief periods, it quickly resumes, compounding travel difficulties with no immediate relief in sight.

The rainfall ceases for a while but resumes after a brief hiatus, making movement even more difficult. With the inclement weather continuing for two days, there is no sign of when the weather will improve. In response to the deteriorating situation, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Churachandpur over the next three days. The forecast warns of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning at isolated locations, prompting local authorities and residents to remain on high alert as the wet spell continues to disrupt normalcy across the district.
