Coronavirus cases in Britain are showing some signs of levelling off but admissions to hospital are expected to keep rising and will not begin to fall for a few weeks, England's Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty said on Friday.
"I'm afraid in the next week we do anticipate the number of people in the NHS (National Health Service) and the number of deaths will continue to rise as the effects of what everyone has done take a while to feed through," Whitty told a news conference.
