The Uttarakhand government's eSwasthya Dham portal has been integrated with the Centre's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), allowing 'Char Dham' pilgrims to create their national digital health accounts seamlessly, the central government announced on Thursday.
The creation of Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) under ABDM will establish a reliable identity for devotees, aiding in the digital management of their health records and enabling immediate intervention during emergencies.
Launched in September 2021, ABDM aims to create an integrated digital health infrastructure nationwide. The eSwasthya Dham portal by Uttarakhand's health department monitors the health parameters of Char Dham pilgrims, ensuring a smooth journey for those visiting Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
The portal allows pilgrims to generate their 14-digit ABHA number within two minutes, providing significant health management benefits, especially amidst the increased pilgrim influx.
Char Dham shrines, located at higher altitudes, necessitate monitoring health ailments like heart diseases, hypertension, respiratory issues, and diabetes, which are exacerbated by cold weather and low oxygen levels.
To date, over 65 crore ABHA have been created, offering citizens the ability to store and manage health records safely and share them with doctors securely. This feature aids in avoiding long queues at healthcare facilities and facilitating doctor appointments.
Citizens can visit https://eswasthyadham.uk.gov.in/login to generate their ABHA and access the portal's benefits. A helpline (104) is also available to assist pilgrims, the statement added.
