FDA Memo Reveals Concerns Over COVID-19 Vaccination and Child Safety
A recent FDA memo cites myocarditis-related concerns over COVID-19 vaccinations, indicating possible links to the deaths of 10 children. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has consequently restricted COVID-19 vaccines to those 65 and older or with health risks. FDA plans heightened vaccine oversight.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has raised alarms in an internal memo, detailing that COVID-19 vaccinations may be linked to the deaths of at least 10 children due to myocarditis, as reported by the New York Times.
In light of these findings, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has enacted a policy shift, limiting vaccine access to those over 65 or with underlying health conditions. Despite requests, the Department of Health and Human Services has not commented on the memo.
The memo, authored by FDA's chief medical and scientific officer Vinay Prasad, omits specifics like the ages of the affected children or vaccine manufacturers. However, it labels the revelation as significant and indicates plans for stricter oversight, including mandatory randomized studies.
