In a significant address at the CII Annual Business Summit 2026, Medanta-The Medicity's Chairman, Naresh Trehan, emphasized India's need to shift from reactive treatments to a proactive prevention model in healthcare.
Trehan underscored that India stands at a vital inflection point with the potential to harness its immense human capital in the evolving global health paradigm. He cited the world's moving focus from system-led approaches to consumer empowerment, suggesting India's opportunity to lead with its projected USD 500 billion preventive healthcare market by 2030.
Complementing his insights, Panacea Biotech's CMD, Rajesh Jain, envisioned India transforming from the 'pharmacy of the world' to the 'preventive capital of the world'. The emphasis on adult vaccination and achieving universal health coverage reflects a combined effort to address the healthcare needs of 1.5 billion citizens effectively.
