The Himachal Pradesh administration has released Rs 100 crore to resolve unpaid expenses related to the Himcare health initiative, according to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. This move aligns with the state's agenda to advance healthcare delivery and ensure that resources reach residents efficiently.
During a discussion with senior health officials, Sukhu emphasized the government's commitment to bringing specialized medical services closer to residents. Recent reforms reflect this objective, marking a three-and-a-half-year effort in enhancing healthcare provisions.
In tandem with this financial allocation, Rs 75 crore is set aside for new automated laboratories in notable medical institutions like IGMC Shimla and Tanda Medical College, enabling more efficient diagnostics. Plans are underway to equip these colleges with modern machinery, including PET scans, enhancing diagnostic capabilities.
Sukhu outlined a comprehensive strategy for reducing MRI and CT scan wait times, while prioritizing timely surgeries. The health department's directive also includes supplying high-quality medications leveraging collaborations.
Addressing manpower shortages, the state prioritizes hiring medical staff to prevent disruptions in patient care. Sukhu assured robust funding in health sectors, pointing towards a promising future for Himachal's public health services.
